Pittsburgh is the Place of Perpetual Waiting

It has finally happened. The slow crawl of the Commercial Street Bridge replacement on the Parkway East has finally begun. It is unbelievable how this is all going to happen. And now, we wait.

This is even slower than watching paint dry. I bet they have a camera setup to keep track of the process. It will be cool to see but I bet these couple of weeks cannot go fast enough. This is actually a road that I am required to travel, and I know that I don’t “wait” well.

But patience is not just about waiting. It is about everything that comes with waiting and what comes on the other side. It is also about where you come from as well. This week, we are going to look at patience as a fruit of the Spirit. Hopefully, we will have a better appreciation for the process when it is all said and done.

READ about Simeon and Anna in Luke 2:25 – 38.

REFLECT
1. What are the core things happening here?

2. What does this teach us about God?

3. What does this teach us about these people?

4. Do you connect with either of the people in this story and why?

PRAY. Meditate. Sit with this phrase, “Lord, we wait on you.”

See you Sunday.
